I am interfacing a plasma cutter to the black box. With the jumper in the M3/M5 position M3S1000 doesn't operate the relay. The tool head light doesn't come on either. If I switch the jumper to the M8/M9 position the relay works as expected (M8 turns on, M9 turns off) with the coolant light coming on as expected. I have checked all the other threads I could find to eliminate the simple problems. Am I missing something or is this a hardware problem?

If M3/M5 doesn't work would it be ok to post the plasma trigger to M8/M9 and run it that way?

    Thanks for your help.

    BlackBox X32 or BlackBox 4X?
In your Grbl Settings, what did you set the value of $30 Max RPM (1000 by default)?

    Its a 4x and $30=1000.

The odd thing is I seemed to have fixed it. I was testing the 0-10v output to see if it worked as expected. I set a series of lower power states (M3S500 etc.) and measured the voltage outputs and they were all what they should be. When I got to 100% I could hear the relay click on and everything works like it should now. It is as if the relay was jammed off (either by hardware or software) and setting it to fractional power levels somehow shook it loose.

Everything is working again the way it should, but I'll let you know if the problem comes back. Thanks for your quick response.
