Hi I'm doing a project which involves creating a 3D profile with a program that has over 200K lines of code in it, however it fails to run. I'm using a Blackbox motion controller...and all my other router programs have the same Gcode at the start and the end of the programs and all work fine. Is there a max number lines of gcode allowed in Control? (The program was created on Aspire) Any help would be appreciated! Thanks
As far as file size goes, it dependent on the computer you're running Control on. If you're computer is struggling, you can disable 3d viewer in the troubleshooting tab. But, you mentioned, "my other programs have the same gcode at the start", which make me wonder what "fails to run" means. Are you getting an error message or is the file just not loading.
Hi, My computer doesn't struggle - (i5 , 3.2GHz, 12 Gig RAM) After clicking Run-job ..nothing happens..the Run-job icon does not change to grey, the 'Stop' icon does not change to black and there's no noise from the steppers. Screen shot below after clicking 'Run Job' ?
... just looked through the log and this appears at the start... Yet this doesn't happen on any other programs ?
Restart Control (right click control icon in systray) Disable 3d viewer Load the file and click start What happens?
Not a lot at all Sadly you cropped your screenshot so we cannot see the version number we show on the window's Titlebar that's been cut off in your crop - always screenshot the whole window please I am guessing you are not on version 1.0.330? Always make sure you are up to date (v1.0.328 had a bug so thinking you maybe have not updated to 1.0.330 yet)
Hi Peter, I might be thick here but is there a max line count? I've run into similar issues with trochoidal milling paths out of estlcam for what seems like basic shapes that generate hundreds of thousands of lines of gcode. For instance I've just tried cutting a trochoidal cut with an 1/8" bit around a perimeter of about 140mm x 170mm box, 283,000 lines of code, the program ran, about 1/10th of the program, stopped, and proudly proclaimed the job complete. I run my machine with the interface (which admittedly hasn't been updated now for some time) but especially with trochoidal it seems like I'm running up against some sort of buffering limit as the feedrates don't seem as fast as I'm asking for, and the loops the trochoidal runs seems almost like they're stuttering, box like instead of infinity looping. I wondered if I'm running up against a limit of the usb to interface to blackbox? I've attached the example file.
Very tiny moves like Trochoidals can stutter yes. Unfortunately just the nature of the beast. In your CAM parameters, see if you can set a limit to shortest segment to avoid unnecessarily small line segments from being created.
Okay thanks, I'll take a look and see about the line segment options. I'm familiar with the option in fusion but not so sure about estlcam.
Fusion has trochoidal too if you are familiar with Fusion, then it might be the ticket as it offers the Smoothing option
