There is mini lathe on Instructable at Mini Lathe Machine for Woodworking I'm thinking of building it because I have some stuff left over from building my CNC router.
The person who built the lathe didn't specify the motor or holesaws or bearings. The links to AliExpress display pages with foreign language. The motor that he/she used has black cylinder and silver ends. I have a motor with silver "can" and a band around the "can". I assume that the holesaws have 1/4" shafts.
I tried "Go to global site" and I get motors but I don't know which one the person used. There are markings on the black cylinder but I don't know if I can search for the motor based on the markings. I printed out the motor mount and found out that the motor mounting holes are 50mm apart and I think it holds a motor that is about 63mm in diameter.
I found out that the motor is Vex Robotics Mini CIM motor. If I buy it at Vex Robotics store, it will cost me $30 plus shipping. The item number is 217-3371.
