I am running a Windows 10 laptop. Openbuilds Control software is excellent and so easy to use! Thank you. I am having trouble that OpenBuilds control software hangs a great deal! I believe it's due to insufficient RAM or SSD speed/space or I have too many memory-intensive applications loaded on the laptop! Anyway, I just wanted to know what the minimum PC/laptop hardware requirements are for the successful running of OpenBuilds control software. Oh, yes I do have a good USB cable. I have the following: USB 2.0 A/B Cable, Ferrite Chokes, 3 ft. | Tripp Lite Unless my USB ports and/or drivers are an issue. Thank you. Regards, Gary
For us to comment on the specs of your computer, it would be helpful if you provide them There's no minimum specs for control, if the PC is old, its gonna be slow. Simple(ish) as that. But mostly: Try after a fresh reboot, make sure Graphics and Chipset drivers are up to date, and close any conflicting applications.
Thank you for the rapid response. Please see my laptop specs, by running "systeminfo" command: Microsoft Windows [Version 10.0.19041.1052] (c) Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved. Only 490mb of free memory, something is hogging all your ram Only has 4Gb, but should still be able to load GCODE files up to around 800k-1mil lines with that Being a laptop, the onboard graphics may be a little slow - go to Troubleshooting tab > Application Diagnostics and disable the 3D viewer Everything that the manufacturer preinstalled for you - that you don't need. Check the startup applications and clean up the bloat. Stuff like trials of Office, several "HP utilities" running in the background, etc: See How to clean boot Windows 10 (and why you might want to) | Windows Central Windows itself comes with a bunch of useless stuff too: How to Easily Remove Bloatware From Windows 10.
