Hi all, I've just reflashed the firmware according to the instructions and immediately after the reset, I am greeted with the MSG:Check Door in grbl. This indicates to me that the software believes the door is open. I cannot move, X, Y, or Z. And I cannot get anything out of GRBL if I try $ or $HELP. I removed the door switch from the X32 and reflashed it again and received the same error message. What are some good next steps? Reflash back to firmware without the door setting and then reflash it again or ? Thank you!
Make sure switch is closed (as it would be when door is closed and pushing on it) when the controller boots up
Hi, yes, the switch has been removed from the controller and it was then reflashed. If that's still an issue I can only theorize that some memory remained from before the flash, but I can't imagine memory surviving a flash.
Do try flashing again, just to be sure. Then also remember to restart CONTROL so it comes up fresh without the door status checks.
I'll reflash back to a version without the door code in it, jog it around and then reflash back again and report back here, thank you.
Not sure what you need. You mention switch was removed? Lets clarify. With DOOR firmware, switch must be HOOKED UP and CLOSED (if switch is open, door is open, thus correctly CHECK DOOR message. Switch removed isn't closing the contact either, so also, yes, Check Door as expected) Switch has to be CLOSED for "normal" state, open when the door is open If you don't have a switch hooked up, you wouldn't use the Door firmware. Want to use Door switch = flash door firmware, but make sure switch is wired up and closed as expected Don't want a door switch = don't use door firmware
I only removed the door switch to figure out where the issue was/is. After reflashing i will make sure the door trigger is wired correctly too. I was really curious why the door message would appear if the door switch was not connected to the controller.
Expecting Normally Closed switch, so must be wired up. Same for any NC device (probes and endstops too)
Got it to work Rewired the switch and the message went away. Activated switched and jogging paused. Deactivated switch and cleared the alarm, jogging resumed Thank you for the help!
