I made a disappointing 45 dollar mistake last night.. I was working on getting my Z axis done. I decided to use one of my smaller motors for, its a 6 wire 287in oz, brand new motor, it was a spare from the old machine. I guess what little wiring info I could find on it on the net was wrong... I double checked it, hooked it up with the proper resistor and sure enough blew the z board out on my Gecko... Just my luck! I learned how to trouble shoot the Gecko a little bit. I have a replacement G250xr3 board coming. Just another set back.
The Gecko has been great.. On my first project at first I was using those Chinese 6560 Drivers and it seemed like if you looked at them wrong something would blow. lol last night I worked on mounting home and limit switches...
I made the machines first cuts last night to build my router clamps. At first I zip tied the router the z axis and cut a couple out of plywood. I mounted the router with those and cut a new set out of delrin. Eventually when I get the machine fully tuned and as much flex eliminated as possible I'll cut a set from aluminum. Here's a video, I slowed the rates down while watching it like a hawk.
The only brush that comes to mind, is the type used on the bottom of doors as draught excluder. Only snag is that it is rigid, so a squarish fitting is needed. I have seen round ones but I don't know where they get flexible brush from. You could buy a load of paint brushes and break the handles off, and use them. Although I must admit, I haven't shopped around for the product. I can't see the top of the vacuum pipe, but can I suggest some kind of frame built onto the X axis, to support the hose etc. As I see the pipe at the moment, it is liable to create a pulling action on the Z axis. Just a thought.
