I really enjoy getting in over my head and talking myself into thinking a project is going to be easier than it is. I’ve convinced myself I can build a 4x8 (or a little larger) machine. Was thinking I could use two C beams butted together on each side for the y’s with a rack and pinion kit from avid Cnc. Then using a C Beam tension XL actuator bundle for the X and a small C Beam linear actuator for the Z. My question now is where I can get a plate to mount the gantry to the y axis rack and pinion setup. Looking to be able to get 5-6 inches of clearance. What else am I missing?
