I just had an issue pop up and wanted to see if I can get some troubleshooting ideas. I have been using my touch probe plus for some time. Yesterday when I went to start a new project I was getting a green light as soon as I connected the magnet to the spindle nut without any contact on the probe base. I also get the signal light when I touch the magnet to the probe plate so it seems that the signal is working correctly. Then I started touching the magnet around the machine. I found that touching any bare metal on the Z axis would light the probe. Other areas on the machine base would not light the probe. Workbee with a VFD spindle. Any ideas of what to try next? Thanks, Dale
Sounds like an Earth (spindle body) to DC GND (supposed to be seperate) short circuit somewhere. See XYZ Probe Plus with VFDs and other ground-loop inducing components
Thanks for that thread. It had the information that I needed. My problem was the Z-Axis limit switch was grounding the Z-axis rail..
