Running a 3D carve, approx 4MB file, 3D view is disabled. At start of carve, DRO and serial console are very active. About 30 min into carve, DRO slows down, same with serial console and instruction count. Eventually, DRO, Serial console will stop along with instruction count. Mean while, cnc machine running along perfectly, no issues. On the serial console, message will say (Disconnected … Open Builds Control probably quit or crashed.) After a fashion, screen is active again and will be ok for some time then same situation as above happens again. Machine will continue, with all this happening, without a hitch and complete the job. Machine returns to work zero. Open builds control is now locked up, can’t jog machine or anything. Need to run Windows Task Manager to close out OC. Restart and all is well again Seems to run small programs just fine. Computer is a Celeron 900, 4Gb RAM and a 250Gig SSD running Win10-64 bit and Open Builds 1.0.305. Any ideas as to what the issue may be? Thanks, in advance, for any help.
Might want to try a more powerful computer - there is a lot going on in the backend, and to maintain reliable, fast command streaming takes a bit of resources The Celeron 900 dates back to Quarter 1 of 2009. Even then a slow, budget chip, it is now 11 years old... as per Intel® Celeron® Processor 900 (1M Cache, 2.20 GHz, 800 MHz FSB) - Product Specifications | Intel - wouldn't be fair to expect any modern, realistic, performance from it Its done its duty, let it retire already
Had a gut feeling that may be the suggestion but, wanted that track covered before a cash outlay like that happens. Thanks Peter!!
