Hello, When in the middle of the Job, I happen to pause, stop or abort an operation or project. The software completely forgets the initial work zero. It just randomly goes to some coordinates and often z just plunges into the material. I am wondering what am I doing wrong. I am running Windows 10 Thank you for your help.
More details please - what cad/cam software and which post processor. Are you homing your machine before running the job? Alex.
The software I use to generate gcode is vectric vcarve and processor I use is GRBL MM. I home the machine before I run the job. Yes. The job runs fine if I dont have to abort or stop. The work home position gets lost if I happened to abandon or stop in the middle of the job.
Please try this post processor ; docs:software:vectric [OpenBuilds Documentation] I'm not sure yet what is happening, but the workplace coordinate system zero cannot be "lost" as it is stored in the controllers eeprom.
No, Grbl HAS TO forget the position on Aborts. Abort is sudden and instant. Position is lost. You HAVE TO rehome. Pause won't, stop shouldn't. But look into your workflow. Anyhow. Loss of position is never lost. Rehome and continue. Homing always reestablishes coordinates
