    Dear community,

I have been using my cnc machine for over 5months. Today I was setting up my machine for a job, so I used continuous job to get to set my work coordinate 0,0,0. However all of a sudden It says "Please wait for the machine to be idle, Try again once it is idle". Sometimes it'll work for couple times and then say the same issue. Jogging only works when I job incrementally.
Plus, my current work coordinates do not get updated as I jog, nor it will respond as I try to click 'set to zero' for either x,y,z.

    So 2 issues,
    1. I cant use continuous jog
    2. It wont update the current coordinate.

My machine: Ratrig stronghold one 1500x1500
    control : blackbox x32
machine profile i use on the open builds control : OpenBuilds LEAD 1515

    Any clue? Cheers!

    -Kyung

Have you tried rebooting the controller? (Press RESET on front panel) - seems to be unresponsive, possibly stuck in some non idle state

There are some unexpected settings like $5=0 (usually $5=7 with out NO switches, $5=0 implies 3rd party NC switches?) if set incorrectly can lock it into Hard Limits state

    The reset doesn't affect unfortunately.
And I've tried different inputs for $5 and also doesnt affect.

    Other checks:
    1) Try a different PC
    2) Make sure you are on CONTROL v1.0.388
    3) Have you rebooted the PC as well
    4) Cropped screenshot hard to interpret in full, screenshot the full window (main jog tab, and troubleshooting tab)

    1) Out of date
    upload_2025-1-14_13-53-0.png

V1.0.376 is from March last year, should be on 1.0.388 by now

    2) When it says wait for Idle, controller is still in running state. Running means the last move isn't dont yet, or we lost comms before receiving acknowledgement that move is complete
    upload_2025-1-14_13-54-24.png

    3) Once the move got there, it went back to idle in next screenshot
    upload_2025-1-14_13-55-2.png

Has to be Idle to accept a Jog command (for safety)

Also noticing its a mac, they can be weird about serial drivers etc. Try a different (preferably Windows) PC please

I've updated but the problem is reoccurring. Continuous jogging works for a bit and at some point the "Controller: stopped" will show on the bottom, and wont jog. Even when i use incremental jog, which will jog but wont change the current coordinate...
I don't own a windows pc atm, but this is something I can change as well for the future.

My Cnc is in the garage without any insulation. So its not been used for about 3 weeks in 0 to -3degrees Celsius. Could this be causing the issue for the controller?

    thanks

Unlikely, looks more like a computer problem at the moment, though that might be a little cold and cause condensation issues too, so can't rule it out completely.
