In moving from MakerCAM (and TinyG) to OpenBuilds CAM, I'm stumped by CAM closing my desired open Paths. In attached "Chord Tool Path" image, is a screen shot of the issue. OpenBuilds CAM handles the line OK. When I have any non-straight path OpenBuilds CAM makes it into a closed path. I use my router to make signs with line drawing artwork. This "feature" of closing archs/chords is causing havoc with the artwork. My source artwork is in Inkscape. Is there anyway to have OpenBuilds CAM leave open paths open?
OB CAM is meant for 2D Cutting (as in cutouts) - at the moment there is no real engrave function. It really works best on closed vectors Depending on the drawing itself, if its single ended "lines" ie not a compound/polyline. (Single lines have two points, start and end) then you can use OpenBuilds CONTROL Software (link URL points to post inside the thread)
