Yes, we push out continuous updates to ensure you always have the latest version. Older versions have expired certificates, missing features, bugs that has since been fixed, etc. Always best to be on the latest version. Our support team also assumes you are on the latest when you need support (as your issue may be caused by a bug that's long been fixed in newer version - running old versions just frustrates everyone involved) Rather, if you find something like a bug in a new version, log a ticket, lets get it fixed and another newer and better version out. No you cannot disable updates, as old versions often break existing integrations
Yes it should. Its not something we directly control. The "chrome" instance included in Electron has settings like those set by default. Seems older versions of electron had that enabled, newer versions seems to handle it differently. Digging into it shortly, just two more urgent tasks ahead of this in the queue
Just updated Light and Dark mode looks great Did notice the " Open GCODE from File" does not return to current folder ? Curious if others have seen this Thanks!
Just had to post a new issue. Display is messed up upon opening. · Issue #273 · OpenBuilds/OpenBuilds-CONTROL
hello, I have a problem with the new version, as at a certain point the display with the fourth axis starts (even if I have not set anything), it also gives me an error and closes the COM3 port due to size limit. I installed 1.0.336 and it seems to work better. Tried changing cables, ports, pc updates, reformatted the same but nothing. Do you have any idea how I can fix it? may be the operating system which is WIN11? A thousand thanks Gabriel Italy
Screenshots of error logs helps a lot. Port issues are usually driver/Os related. Win11 works fine, but check that you have FTDI drivers (not windows generic drivers) and have disabled USB Selective Suspend
Hi Peter, nice to hear from you, congratulations for what you do! I am attaching the screenshots I have had to date on the two PCs (one win10 and one win11). Win10 has always worked without problems, with .38 I had many problems, with Win11 instead it gets mixed up many times with COM3 errors and slowdowns. I enclose screenshots with error and with activation of the 4th axis mode (at one point he did it without asking for anything). a thousand thanks!!
Error 31 means the OS shut down the port. Either USB Selective Suspend, or EMI. Try different ports on the PC too (proper USB2 on motherboard instead of front panel for example) 4th axis enabling points to serial corruption too - position feedback string corrupted badly enough to look like it returns 4 position values
I've had a quick search but cannot find anything relating to this question. When operating in mm mode, is there a way to get another decimal place? Ideally I'd love to see 3 decimal places, and have the ability to incrementally jog 0.01mm as well as the three standard options
Display: Not at this time. You can send any move commands using the Serial Terminal or custom Macros.
Is a Tool Change option still being worked on, instead of separate files for each bit? Is it possible to have a Macro callout in the gcode itself? I am fairly new to cnc and learning.
I would like to know of the fix for the OB Control Software Update that I did today. Probe doesn't work and when I tried to use it on the NEW BLACK BOX x32 on my new LEAD1515 it locks the control software up. You have to disconnect and close out to reset the OB control software. Then I seen that you should do the firmware update for the BX x32 and did that and that MADE THE WORLD END FOR ME. The Y2 motor no longer works. Shut it down, the Y2 MOTOR that is. I would like to know the fix or be told how to go back to the Firmware the BX x32 came with. Thank God a have 2nd BX x32s. I'm up running again with out using the probe. I will be sending this Blackbox x32 back if I'm not told how to resolve these issues. PLEASE HELP! This is my first major issue since I started purchasing their CNC systems 7-8 years ago. This has me lost. I know it will get worked out in time. But I need it working now for Christmas gifts. So if anyone can answer this, let me know. Thanks, Roger
Here is the older versions of OB Control if you want to go back to the previous. Releases · OpenBuilds/OpenBuilds-CONTROL
Craig, Thanks but I need to get to the firmware that came on the OB BLACK BOX x32. When I did the firmware update to fix the probe issues it made the Y2 motor not work anymore. I need to fix the BlackBox x32. Control software worked just the probe doesn't. I do thank you for the input.
Good catch. V1.0.338 of CONTROL has the older firmware. Will push out an update for the Y2 issue today as v1.0.401
and don't install the wrong version! you want the 3 axis version not the 4 axis version the highlighted one
See File open doesnt remember last folder used. · Issue #270 · OpenBuilds/OpenBuilds-CONTROL > Electron wants us to rewrite large parts of the code to use a different dialog method. Ticket is still open, we do intend complying - but it is quite a bit of work so just waiting on an opening in the developer's schedule to attend to it
Hi everyone I cant solve the error “No WebGL Support found on this computer! Disabled 3D Viewer - Sorry!”, the funny thing is that I could do it before, but now I can´t, even if I use earlier versions of the software, the 3d the view is enabled, I have a AMD Radeon Graphic card Any Suggestions?
1) update GPU drivers 2) update Chipset drivers WebGL gets disabled by the embedded instance of Chromium if your hardware/drivers are blacklisted because of known WebGL issues. Sometimes just relates to old driver versions. See https://source.chromium.org/chromium/chromium/src/+/main:gpu/config/software_rendering_list.json When you update to V1.0.342 we've included a "Show GPU information" menu in Troubleshooting: It shows the built-in Chromium instance's [pre]chrome://gpu[/pre] page. This will tell you why your GPU does not enable WebGL properly. You can use the "Copy report to Clipboard button" if working through it yourself doesn't tell you why WebGL is disabled for your GPU, and you want us to help check.
I was goofing around with a ESP32 that I had tried flashing with a few different things (grblHal, grbl_esp32 and fluidNC) and I noticed a settings tab for FluidNC. Does OpenBuilds plan to support FluidNC? Maybe a BackBox with FluidNC?
Ohh... I see it in the changelog now 'Basic FluidNC connectivity support'. This is cool thanks for including this!
There is a Git Issue where you can track more : FluidNC support · Issue #283 · OpenBuilds/OpenBuilds-CONTROL Still half baked work in progress at this time, but had to push the release for the ssl certs anyway, so put out whats done so far. When its all polished up we'll add some documentation
Thank You very much Peter, I updated the drivers, yet I couldn´t solve it, i guess i have to research more on the information you sent me, really grateful for your help and info.!!!!
