Hello, Thanks for all of your help so far. I am still new to the CNC world but I am slowly figuring things out. I use Aspire for my CAD design. It has been a huge learning curve! I have a computer that is a few years older. I am running Windows 10. I will have Aspire up and running. I will have a radio station streaming music on the same computer. I will also have Open Builds Control running to operate my CNC machine. I have had it lock up and stop working many times. it is frustrating! I try to restart the program but more often than not I have to restart the computer. is there any thoughts on this? If I have to upgrade my computer I will but I don't think that's the problem. in Open Control I really like the control from my smart phone but is there other programs that would work the same or better? Cheers Peter
I would move the radio station to a dedicated machine. win10 is not good at being a server, they want you to buy a server license!. also check the docs for how to set the USB ports to always on and check the other FAQs. also try turning the 3D display off just in case it is graphic driver problem (everything is up to date, right?)
I would NEVER play about with any other software be it Aspire, music or whatever while running a job on the CNC.
I have had the same thing happen to me when running a file on the CNC and trying to edit a file in sketchup. I now use a laptop that was my daughters for a few years for the CNC machine only and do nothing else on it while it is running. It is a sub $300 Lenovo with Windows 10 and works great for what it is used for. I removed everything she installed then only installed the necessities plus Fusion 360, Google Chrome and Estlcam.
