Hey everyone, I'm in the process of building myself a plasma cutting table. Construction of the table is done and now I'm focusing on the wiring of this thing. I found Open builds from a youtuber that was using the black box motion control system for his table. I've purchased a black box controller, and before I got that, I had purchased a Nema 34 stepper motor "CNC kit" off of ebay. The kit came with 3 motors, 3 stepper drivers, and 3 power supplies. Motor stats are as follows: Model: 34HS5435C-02B2 Step Angle: 1.8* Rate Voltage (V): 5.7 Rate Current (A): 3.5 Phase Resistance: 1.9 Phase Inductance (MH): 22 Holding Torque: 1600 4-Wire I've watched OpenBuild WorkBee and Lead CNC build videos on youtube and everything looks pretty straight forward. But these are all kits with all the parts included, and smaller 17 or 23 motors. Question 1: Will I be able to wire up my build using this black box and my Nema 34 motors? Question 2: My 3 motors each came with their own power supply. The WorkBee video shows a single 24v power supply for the black box which I did not purchase. This single power supply also provides the power to the stepper motors from my understanding. If I purchase the 24v power supply from open builds, will that also power my nema 34 motors? As you can see, I'm lost! Thanks for bearing with me and any advice, or links you can provide will be appreciated! Thanks for your time! -Brian
Looks like they should work. Low inductance, low voltage coils = good Yes, one Meanwell 24v LRS350-24 will power everything. See docs:blackbox:connect-psu [OpenBuilds Documentation]
