Hi all, is there a way to user adjust the stock parameters within Open builds control using the xyz probe (the one with the lovely green LEDs!) everything is working fine (once I’d installed the opto isolator on the PC USB!) but, I’d like to be able to slow down the moves from the Z probe to the X to the y… my machine moves so fast it sometimes dislodges the xyz probe itself (if I’m not Holding it down)…
At this time, its not customisable. Travel moves, by standard, are G0 moves that runs at the Machine's Max Rate (Grbl Settings) But we do recommend keeping it in place for best accuracy. You could replace the magnet cable with something more flexible/long to help stop the tugging, but even then you want to be sure its tight against the stock
Thanks Peter, like I say, it’s not a huge problem, I’m just tweaking. I Recently moved to the X32 from the Web based Duet control (UK) …now.. I’m absolutely loving the Open Builds control s/w and GrblHal!
I use a thin flexible plastic ruler to hold down the probe, keeps my fingers out of it and securely holds it down while th eprobe sequence runs
You may want to try replacing the small magnet with a good quality alligator clip and maybe a longer more flexible silicone jacketed lead. This may further isolate the puck from movement of the lead wire. I find the magnet it tricky for some bit profiles.
