Hey Everyone, I finally got my lead 1515 machine up and running and wanted to run a quick test to check the tramming of my router. I mocked up a cut in Fusion 360 to cut a 3 inch by 3 inch pocket that is 1/4" deep. I loaded the file onto a USB and load it in the OpenBuilds interface controller. I first probe my machine using the XYZ probe and probe all of the axis to zero with no issue. However, once I remove the probe and start my project file the CNC will move into negative X and Y coordinates and run the path in the air because my board isn't there. I referenced the "First Project" video on youtube with the controller and it seemed like I did everything the same as the video. The only difference I could think of is my gcode file. This is my first attempt at running a project so I'm sure I'm missing something, I just can't figure out what it is. Thanks in advance! Logan
where did you set you stock origin in Fusion? Sound like you probed the top of the stock in the lower left hand corner, but have your origin in fusion set to bottom of stock in the lower right corner. The other thing to check is make sure that your machine is jogging correctly. Z+ should move the router up, Y+ should move it away from you and X+ should move it to the right.
My stock origin point was just set to default in the center of the model. I updated this in fusion to be the bottom left hand corner and that solved my issue. Thanks again! Looks like I've got a lot more to learn on the CAM side of things. I've used Fusion to create my models for a couple years now but this is a whole new world. Ha.
