I have spent so much time in them.... and now, I'm having another one of those "wow, I could've had a V8" moments. Let me reiterate... This is the latest version of my CNC4newbie NEW-carve that I've had since around 2018... I say "latest version" because it spends more time in stages of change than it does making anything. Let me elaborate on the last change and you'll fully understand my "vegetable drink" reference above...

I decided that I was gonna add a rotary axis but, it had to be a true 4 axis... I was not gonna give up an X or Y axis... X, Y, Z and A would have to be fully independant of each other... So, at the time, I was using Openbuilds Control and a BlackBox (4x)... I opted to go the MACH4 / Pokeys57cnc route... After getting it all into the controller box, I started the installation / configuration of the software... My analogy..... using a Cray Supercomputer to add two single digit numbers.

I needed a distraction... So, I opted to get me a C-Beam machine... which led me to think about getting the newer BlackBox (32X)... Since I had only noticed it on the website but never really read it's specs, I jumped out onto Openbuilds and gave it a looke-see...

And there it was.... 4 axis support with grblHAL...

Connect - see A-axis buttons as firmware reported it has a 4th

And setup steps per mm, acceleration, max rate etc

I have to agree... I was really dreading how envolved going the MACH direction was gonna be... I just want to load a gcode file and go... I'm thinking, with the BlackBox 32X, I can start to enjoy the machine again...

Additionally... I've picked up a few things reading other people's post...Can you confirm I'm not confused...

    1) Wire the two Y axis motors together in parrallel

    2) Plug the Y axis motors into "Motor Y" connection on the BlackBox 32X controller

    3) Plug rotary axis into "Motor Y2" connection on the BlackBox 32X controller

    4) Wire each axis' min and max limit switches together in parrallel and put into respective limit switch connection on the BlackBox 32X controller

    Correct

    Correct

    Correct

Correct, keeping in mind A shares with Z (if you plan on adding homing to A)
