    Yeah space the VFD away and run its cable through a swing arm (not through the cable chain along with limits etc): Swing Arm

    Yes! We are also building one of those swing arms at the makerspace I founded (Truckee Roundhouse) over our ShopBot. Great design.

    I might start a separate thread for further machine questions through my build as I don't want this out to get O/T about the RATTM VFD.

    Peter - Can you detail why it's important to program the VFD minimum frequency at say, 7200 RPM (120 HZ USA)?

    Aircooling. If its too slow, not enough air = overheating spindle
