I need to store 4 preset positions on 4 linear actuators. I'd like to keep the hardware as simple as possible, ideally close to an off the shelf solution, rather than putting something together. The actuators will be split into pairs and will be the inverse of each other, so as one moves up, another moves down the same distance/speed, then the same left and right. I need to recall 4 preset positions for each - each preset will ideally be called via RS232. Could I do this with a Blackbox, is that overkill?
the hardware of the blackbox X32 can do it, the actuators will need home switches to establish '0'. after that just send the Gcode to get the positions you need. You will need to flash the XYZA firmware to get 4 independant outputs.
Thanks David, The bit I was least sure about was the rs232 connection. Ill need an adaptor in order to sent 232 to the Aux input on the Blackbox, right?
