Pause, leave, come back, resume ? The pause function will stay paused unless something (power outtage, windows update, etc) interrupts it. Keeping the machine powered up keeps motors engaged and thus positions maintained. Pause stops the current moves gracefully so position is maintained. Just turn the spindle / router off of course
