Where in the OpenBuilds documentation is the file for the router to start and stop automatically when the Run Job button is clicked on? It was starting before but for some reason now it will not. Duane
In order to control the router, you need two things. 1 - The correct M3 (spindle start) and M5 (spindle stop) commands in your gcode file. 2 - Something that can sense when those codes trigger the relay that your router is attached to: docs:blackbox-4x:connect-dewalt-iotrelay [OpenBuilds Documentation]
Thank you! Not sure what happened as the router was working. I'll go through the setup in the morning and get it running again.
Shawn, I still cannot get the router to turn on automatically. I went to the Gcode and typed in M3 S1000 ; Turn Spindle On and M5 ; Turn Spindle Off. Also, I made two macros awhile back. The router macro is $32=0 and the laser is $32=1. I used to only have to click on the router macro and I was good to go.
Is $30=1000 still set in your Grbl Settings? Use the Tool On button to avoid the need to think about the value and type commands (along the top toolbar)
Any any recent changes? Added any accesories, changed some unrelated setting? Didnt maybe enable Laser Mode? Worked on wiring that could have caused a short? Uplugged the IoT's mains cable by accident? Forgot power switch on router itself?
No joy. Still no startup on the router. Can get it to start manually by plugging the router in a different power source.
Peter, I want to say no to most, but, I did do an update for either OpenBuilds, Lightburn or Vectric V Carve last week. Just can't remember which one. I will try to do some back tracking to see if I can figure out what was updated.
Software updates can't really affect that. Did you test with the TOOL ON button in CONTROL? If that doesn't work, check wiring, check power, etc
Yes, i tried using the TOOL ON button but with no luck. I'll go back and check the wires and power connections again.
Still have the problem of a no start but have not given up. Going to go back and checking everything once again. I'm sure it's something simple I might have missed. This might be a waste of time but what about reinstalling the OpenBuilds software?? Maybe something in it might have got corrupted??
Yip would be a waste of time. Control reinstall won't change a thing. Either wired wrong, plugged in wrong, router switched off, or something damaged the Blackbox
I have no idea why or how but the auto start decided to start working again!!!!! Thanks again for your time and patience, but, I do have one other question. I seen page in the documentation on installing a second probe. I have work that needs to be done on wood rounds so I want to be able to use a probe I have for that work. I know it involves using a switch but I have not been able to find the page.
Depends what kind of probe, what you expect to use it for and then of course the Wizard does what it does, nothing more - are you up for creating the needed macros to make it work? For positing rounds its often just way easier to use a fixed reference. Dowel pin in center, or fences on the side, etc to position it for bulk work without probing each one. Think differently
Yes macros would be nice. The probe I have came with my X-crave 1000 from Inventables. Fences on each side, have to try that.
That's just a Z probe. No need for it. XYZ probe can do Z too. Click the Z tab in the wizard. If its not on a spot you can use the corner, simple, just flip the probe upside down and probe anywhere on the stock (upside down the shoulders are not in the way)
