I have a 1010 like cnc with linear rails with 2 y axes. Lead screw driven. After running for a while, it maintains a good of xy position while cutting , but one of the sides ends up 10-40 mm shorter than the other.

is this normal, and if not, what can I do to get them in sync? They both seem to move freely when turned when the power is off.

    1) Check mechanical components (loose setscrew on shaft coupler, etc)
    2) Check Grbl Parameters (Acceleration or Max Rate set too high causing occational stall)
    3) Check motor wiring (intermittent break in one of the 4 wires causing motor to stall - loose terminals, or a break in a wire inside the insulation at a strain point, coming loose just every now and then when the cable bends just right)

Everything looked tight. I’m going to try and increase the current a bit.

If it ran perfectly fine for a period of time I don't think that increasing the current is the problem. Did you proper lube your carriages? Cleaning and lubing needs to be done quite frequently.

    I’ll try that. Thanks!
