hello all, what code should i use to send my openbuilds machine for example 600mm to the right or back. (please provide the full code)
Assuming Z is at a safe height, G91 G0 X600 (sends X 600 mm to the right from the current position - good idea to then send G90 to switch movements back to absolute mode from the relative mode G91 sets) G91 G0 Y600 for sending Y back 600 mm. To send X left or Y forwards it would be - 600 (minus 600) To make sure that you are in metric mode send G21. Alex.
Hi Alex, Thank you so much. What I always did to calibrate my machine was send 100mm 6 times in a row and then measure but I have the idea that it's not as accurate as if you send 600mm in one movement so that's why. Thanks again and I'll be using this tomorrow. Yours sincerely Bert
Hello Shamstr, To be honest I have never used that because I got a program from the internet where I could enter the values and the calculation was done for me. I'm definitely going to try this now. You can certainly teach an old dog something. thanks Bert
hello all, For the first time I have now used control to calibrate my machine and I should have known before that it was so easy. Control is a very good program that contains everything you need to control your machine. A big thank you to the creators of this program. And yes, the old dog has learned another trick. By the way, my machine was already very accurate, I didn't have to adjust anything. That means that sending 6 x 100mm is exactly the same as sending 600mm 1 time and that surprised me a bit, but so be it. Yours sincerely Bert
