I always register my work in the same position using a right angle fixture as my guide for placing a part. Once I find the X0Y0 position of that fixture in the corner, is there a way to set those coordinates permanently so that even if I have to re-home or shut the power off, I can have the machine always go to that position without doing a probe of the X and Y sides of a work piece. Is there some literature on that topic that specifically deals with that issue?

That position is saved until you reset 0 somewhere else. In other words, it already does that by default if you remember to home your machine every time you turn it on.
