Anyone know of a simple single axis motion controller that would allow me to enter in positions to move to? I made my own using a raspberry pi for a touchscreen interface I wrote and an arduino to control a servo about a year ago. But I'm looking around for something off the shelf this time.
Like a second MCU running a motion control program with it's own wcs along side of your existing setup? Or something that integrates with an already configured motion system? For a rotary (turning) axis?
Neither. Specially for a backgauge for a press brake. Here's the one I made before. User enters in locations. Limit switch triggers move to next position. Shawn Armstrong on Instagram: “Another huge thanks to @neo7cnc and @sand_hill_machine_shop for the inspiration and help. David, I designed the new bezel with your logo…” Shawn Armstrong on Instagram: “Looks like its working out well. #arduino #raspberrypi #cncbackgauge #chickchips”
Ah, I getcha. Cheap? Chinese? Here's something... SainSmart 1 Axis CNC Servo Stepper Motor Motion Programmable Controller
Dont really need that. Has to be simple stupid. Move to 1". Move to 30mm. Looks like I'm going to have to write my own again.
You mean "stupid simple"? (I hope.) Hmm. I've seen some old brakes that have been converted to servo jobs. Backgauging. Expensive.
LOL. Yes, sorry. Yes, that's what I did. I was quoted $12k but built it for $1k. Now I need inexpensive for those diy brakes No biggy. I'll just program it myself. Thank you.
