So when I see the travel on an actuator state 35". Does that mean that if I mount a router on the plate the effective cutting will travel 35"or do I loose space because of the plate. And how would I find how much travel will be lost if that is the case?
My guess, he is looking at the specs here. As far as I can tell, you guys provide 2 values, physical dimensions of the entire unit, and workable space. Is that 35 the dimension of the unit, or the workable space, if it is the workable space, then you should be able to use the full 35 regardless of the mounting of your router.
Generally beam length minus plate width gives you nominal travel length. So for a 1000mm beam with a 125mm wide XL gantry plate leaves 875mm or 34.44”. The notable exception being the C-beam and double C-beam gantry plates with the inset wheels can have a conflict with lead screw lock collar.
