I have one of the open builds cnc router machines, and it works great for making plates. But I want to make a half sphere, in 3 separate layers that I will glue together. Any recommendations as to how to do this? I have looked around but everything I have found just discusses how to make plates. I have been using the phlatboyz plugin for sketchup. Thanks for any help!

    Hi
You can use the 3D function in SketchUcam but we know it is not very good so your mileage may vary (-:
You should read the manual SketchUcam: HOWTO use the 3D generator

For really good 3D cutting you need something like Fusion360 but there are other open source solutions like
    pycam

    other paid solutions include
    vcarve
    bobcad
    estlcam

and no doubt there are many others that Google knows about.
