Hello I have been checking out eBay for 110v 1.5kw spindle and vdf and I am not sure what is the good choice since so many are out there. Has anyone bought a set and would recommend a place or seller ?
hahaha so true. I have found this package. "Here" 110v 65mm ( lighter weight then the 80mm ) 1.5kw spindle with 110v vfd ! I have been saving up for a spindle upgrade. I get a lot of grbl / vfd / spindle questions I have no experience with and want to dive in and give it a go / learn something. If you check out the reviews on the linked unit it looks like a C-beam based builder "Nathan" has used it with success. I wonder if he is a member here and could give us some feedback..
What "hurts" is the fact that all of the 220v systems are around $250. The rare 110v is approaching $400. That particular kit comes with a lot of goodies though.
As first time builder, I am trying not to add plumbing and causing a disaster . Heard air cooled are not bad and sound sweet as well. I also saw a video where the water pump makes so much noise that it beats the purpose
Then that video must have had a very bad setup. A submerged pump is silent. The pump must also be rigidly secured to avoid vibration. I came from the aquarium industry so I'm speaking from a ton of experience.
I am sure the spindles are quieter, but my Makita is not that loud. I cut most everything at 10000-15000 rpms and I can have a normal conversation in the same room...until I turn on the shop vac. When just the spindle is running and is not cutting, it is barely noticeable compared to every other power tool I have. It is when it cuts that the decibels go up, but that is due to the cutter doing its work. The VFD of a spindle is probably a nice feature to have, though.
