I have been running a BobsCNC E3 for a while first with the stock Dewalt spiral cut unit then upgraded to the Makita RT0701C for speed control. I outgrew the Bob's and just finished an Openbuilds based CNC. While running a deep profile cut (1.30") in hard maple it started a shrill screech and I know the bottom bearing is about to go after using it for about 3 months.

I'm going to replace the bearing of course but also thinking I should put the Makita back into the Bob's for small projects so I can run 2 CNCs simultaneously. I wish I had bought the Dewalt 611 originally but now wondering what would be better without breaking the budget. I do a lot of profile and pocket cuts in hardwoods and now that I have a rigid machine want to start working on aluminum. I'd rather avoid a water-cooled spindle due to logistics in my workshop. 220 is an option but a pain to route over to the CNC.

What direction should I go? Thanks
