Can someone please guide me to the best way to square off the bottom of text to cut out a standing letter using Vcarve Pro?

If you are trying to make it so the base of the letters meet the wood at a 90 degree angle, I would thing that a pass around the vectors that create the letters with a regular endmill that is small enough to get into the smallest corner of the letter would work.
I also found this video, not sure if it is what you are looking for.

No I simply want to square off the bottom of a letter like C or S so it has a flat base to stand up on. I will be cutting out a 30" tall letter. Just need to trim a small portion off the bottom to make it flat so it will stand up

Tip : post some example pictures / napkin sketches of what you want to do. Would clarify and avoid confusion if included from the beginning

After creating text, draw a rectangle at the bottom of the text so that the text can stand up. Use scissors tool to cut out unnecessary lines and arcs or use combine tool to combine text and rectangle into one object.

    Jeff's Idea above will work.
    Draw a box

    Convert text to curves:

Select both. They will now both be dashed lines. Before, the text was solid.

Now you can trim with the scissors trim tool. My cuts were exaggerated.

Well this is where I just shale my head and realize I just have too much going on...LOL. I was actually trying to do the very thing Jeff mentioned before he even mentioned it and now that you have provided the screen shots I am able to see the step I missed and issue I had. Thank you all again.

    I need a vacation big time :)
