    Hi all,
I have used various feed and speed calculators and I am getting various results (see below). the end mill that I am using is a 1/4" 2 flute downcut. The chip load for this bit on MDF is between .013 and .016 in. Some calculators say my feed rate should be up to 8000 mm/min (315 ipm) while others say between 1000 and 2000 mm/mm (40 ipm and 80 ipm). Can some help this confused newbie?
    Thanks,
    Scott

Some calculators are intended for industrial machines which are much more rigid than our hobby machines. 1000~2000 mm/min is more realistic.

I have found that about 2500 mm/minute with a depth of cut of half the diameter of the end mill works well for me for all types of wood and plastic products I cut. My main variable is the RPMs of the router. I adjust it if it sounds like it is struggling, or if it is spinning too fast and making dust not chips.
