Hey All, TIA for any advice. Long story short I just upgraded to a bigger location and want to stream g-code from my home based desktop to my workbee. Heres the setup I was thinking.... Home-Desktop connected to ethernet. Shop 4 miles away- Nothing....was wondering if i could somehow create a hotspot on my iphone to connect to the blackbox and stream g-code. I have google remote to control the desktop remotely. Thoughts?
Add an Interface to the CNC machine: docs:interface:start [OpenBuilds Documentation] so you don't need a PC there. 4 miles is far too far for wifi. Take your GCODE to the shop on a USB stick And never leave the machine unattended Don't catch on fire (: - also known as "what happens when you leave CNC unattended" [pics] so you are going there anyway to watch it, can bring your gcode to your Interface
I have a PC running windows 11 pro, and openbuilds control USB connected to my lead 1010 X32 I use one drive to replicate files to it, I have a camera mounted above the CNC so I can watch it I use RDP (Remote Desktop Protocol) to run the PC remote I work out of my up stairs office, but never leave the house while the machine is running, The camera and RDP window run on a second monitor so I have them up all the time, ** I mostly carve foam board with this setup I also have aspire break my large gcode in to about 2 to 3 hour jobs, that way I can schedule them to be done before I go to bed
