I recently bought a cnc 3018 pro from vevor and i cant get it to work on my macbook pro I installed open build controller It connects I can move the different axis and i can get the spindel to spin but it dosent actually work. if i open a g-code made in openbuild cam, it loads. But the marker is way off and it dosent move when i move the axis Nothing happens if i press run job. And yes ive tryed to unlock any alarm, abort and restart grbl. But nothing seem to work for me here. Im new to this and i would really need som help if somebody knows what im doing wrong .
Please contact vevor for support for their product, as well as their recommended software for their machines.
yeah well. I did . They say that its not supported on mac. I understood that their software (candle ) is not supported on mac . Openbuild is and since its responding and its connecting, it must be something im doing wrong . I see that people have been using 3018 machines and its been working on openbuild but they have windows and its not exactly the same machine. Strange if that the only problem. So you dont have any solutions i can try ?
you didn't mention homing. are there limit switches? if so, have you tested them? is homing enabled? does it home? if not, you will need to switch it on with Z at the top of travel (everytime) otherwise some Gcode operations will fail. so, with some semblance of homing, what next? place your material on the table and fasten it jog to where the part 0,0,0 is and use the 'SetZero' buttons to set workplace zero there (that is actually what moves the drawing around) if the drawing is still not moving then the reporting is off, should be $10=1 ;Status report options, mask I think going through the test cut video will help you:
and then there are the 'max travel' settings, which tell the display the size of the machine. What are they set to?
