Hi, I am building a new 3d printer with V-slot extrusions and V wheels. The question is there are 4 types of V wheels available - Solid V wheel, Derlin V wheel, Xtreme solid V wheel and Metal V wheel. Which one is suitable for X-axis, Y-axis and Z-axis and why? Planning to use 1. X-axis - 20x20mm V-slot extrusion - 250mm 2. Y-axis - 20x40mm V-slot extrusion - 300mm 3. Z-axis - 20x40mm V-slot extrusion - 300mm (Like Bukito style 3d printer). Thanks in advance for helping. Regards Selvakumaran
Really your choices should be between: Solid V-Wheels Mini V-Wheels Extreme Solid V-Wheels Extreme Mini V-Wheels The other two choices are inappropriate as they are designed for use with the V-rail system. The Delrin versions of the Solid V and Mini V wheels should be sufficient for your use. As for which size to go with, that is a personal choice based on the plates used and the extent to which you want to minimize the size of the machine.
Thanks for your valuable suggestions.. I will check which one to use, Solid or Mini (with Derlin version itself)
