Hi Folks, I tried out the surfacing wizard on my new Workbee 1050 ( using the Black Box) yesterday and it performed as it should, however it is not working today and just hangs for a couple minutes and closes the window back to the controller. I have tried reinstalling the Controller but that did not resolve the issue. Everything else seems to operate as it should but for some reason the surface feature will not. is anyone else having this issue as it just seemed to come out of no where. It's a neat feature but not for anything really big. I just want to have everything operating properly. it is good for small projects where you don't need to run through your planner. Not really sure how to proceed. Thank you in advance.
Surface wizard still is not working. The system just hangs after I click proceed and then eventually goes back to the Desktop.
Your right. For some reason it does not like certain sizes or it could be a combination of that and settings. Anyway, it is functioning so I will just have to input a larger size and take it from there.
Weird. I did it again and now it's working. Must have gremlins running around it here. People are going to start thinking I'm nuts. Sorry.
Well here we go again. On a new system and still having issues on and off. I am not sure what else to do
But you do not have values filled into Stepover and Feedrate? (grayish number is it showing you an example. Its called a Placeholder: learn more here at HTML input placeholder Attribute)
I filled in both the feed rate and Step over several times and get the same result. Is there some file I am supposed to install and if so which ones please. I see the message (Install Drivers) but I am not sure if I am installing the ones I need. What grayish message please. I don't see one. Sorry but I am new to this and I have spent more time just trying to get things to work verses doing any actual cutting. Randy
Video of process attached. Works for me. Sample gcode with the settings from your screenshot (except having values filled in where needed) Saved the Gcode so you can play with it (attached) That other error about missing Feedrate, also indicates when you took that screenshot you did not have a value filled into the Feedrate field. Just fill in the numbers into all fields and it will work - with empty field, it can't do a good job That is just a convenient link to the Drivers download page for people whose computers does not have the FTDI driver or couldn't grab it from windows update automatically (docs:blackbox:install-drivers [OpenBuilds Documentation]) . If you can connect, its done, hit connect next time and ignore the link until someday you need to install drivers or update them Grayed out input field indicating you do not have content filled in, so the Placeholder function shows you some examples:
Just wanted to say all is working. To be honest nothing ever shows Grey to me anyways but I just re-fill in all the fields and it seems to work so that's one down and a hundred other things to learn now. Thank for all the help.
BTW, Peter. What does '40 % stepover' means? 40% of the bit diameter is over the previous cut or 60% is over the previous cut?
40% moved over (stepped forward into fresh material). 10% is a less aggressive cut, than 40% would be
