I'm sure this is a stupid newbie question but here we go...

I have the Lead1515 and I need to surface the spoilboard. In the wizard it asks for the width of the spoilboard in X and length in Y. So my question is, should I be entering the actual physical width and length of my spoilboard or should the measurement be taken from the spindle position after the machine has been homed to the furthest point on both X and Y axis's before the limit switches would be engaged because that is my actual cutting area?

Thanks ahead of time guys, I'm still figuring out all these little things that seem like no brainers to u guys

The dimensions you enter are the size it will run. So yes, determine how far it is you want to surface in each direction and enter that. Overshoot and you'll crash into the ends

So yes, I would be setting it to my max X and Y limit values just before hitting the limit switches. Can you recommend a distance I should be keeping my surfacing pass away from the gantry engaging the limit switches?

As close as you feel comfortable. it only triggers once pressed, so 1-10mm whatever you are happy with.

OK, thank you. I'd assume I need to get as close as possible because in the event of processing a half sheet of material, if I'm not super close to the size of the physical spoilboard with my surfacing pass I'd think this would cause the material to sit on the unsurfaced area AND the surfaced area and cause some type of bow in towards the middle of the material because most of its support would be on the outer edge of the spoilboard that has not been surfaced.. Am I correct in this thought process or am I totally overthinking this lol ?
