    Thinking about it.
There could be wisdom, in the first place, in trying all those options, Pause, Emergency Stop etc, midway through a small job on an old piece of wood to see what exactly happens and where it leaves you, for future reference and actions?? :D:D
Could it not be Suggested in the Manual before venturing into a big job?

In hindsight Yes. But as you say it may be good to conduct a test case in scrap timber for future reference.

On PAUSE it is supposed to homeall (ie go to limit switches) - on RESUME it should go back to where it was when you pressed PAUSE and carry on where it left of. The Duet remembers your work zero position, I don't know whether it remembers the position if a programme is paused - think it unlikely as it would be part way through a g code file - it wouldn't know which one to restart from the sd card after power off.
Solution - turn off the router but leave computer and Duet on (maybe just Duet - would need to experiment).
    Alex.

I am not aware of a manual for the workbee with duet controller - although the wiki for the duet is useful it is important to remember that Ooznest do somethings slightly differently. If there is a manual where do I get one?

I will concentrate on that later @Alex Chambers. It would need to be sorted as I feel it would be useful to know and very handy if it can be done. Most of the pause/resume literature relates to 3D printers and the fear of fire if left running overnight so I'm not sure how this would pertain to a wood machinist.

In the meantime, my cutlass job has finished and I'm currently in the process of gluing the pieces together. If I'm honest it is slightly on the thin side, but then again they are for small children and neither need weight or bulk. (the point will be well rounded in the interest of safety)

One half of the Cutlass project.

If I'm doing this again I will add a millimeter or two to the base. Fairly pleased would be a better assumption on the project. Let's see when the glue sets and the sanding is complete. Then I will paint and dress it up a little. I have a few cosmetic ideas up my sleeve on that score.

Sorry my bad. :banghead: What I meant was, IF there were a manual, then it should be written in big bold letters. :D
Power cuts, computer crashes, wifi crashes, dodgy wiring crashes, would also come under the same banner. :jawdrop: In fact any error that can be simulated and results in the Stop event, should be Tested, before venturing on to greater things.
Just to see if you can get away with a simple continuation of a job or not!
It is quite logical really but very rarely done I think.

Indeed @GrayUK - an awful lot of critical testing happens AFTER the event that highlighted the need for it.

I will fill you in a little on how this situation actually came about.
The estimated times shown in my software package are just that "estimated" any job I have performed to date came well in under time but this roughing program was remaining true to its word. I started early morning and let the thing run. I didn't want to go with a larger endmill so I thought I'd have enough time. I was wrong. Maybe I could have increased the speeds and feed rates but in all the jobs I've done with MDF the setting I'd chosen work pretty well hence I was reluctant to change anything. All that said the software produced a time of 7hrs for the finishing strategy which only took three 3½ hours...I can't win  hahahaha

I believe that in the Duet Web Control you can increase feed rates while a job is running - courtesy of the rep-rap firmware that allows you to speed up a 3d printer. I will check tomorrow and let you know for sure (a bit late to run things now). Obviously you might need to adjust the router speed in proportion.
    Alex.

Hi Colin, I use the Cycle time from Vcarve a lot and I find that it's pretty accurate for my humble Arduino running grbl. If anything I would expect the estimated times to be less than actual due to the fact that the estimate takes no account of acceleration or deceleration How can I get an estimate of how long the toolpath will take to actually cut?
I didn't have to apply a scale but sounds like this wouldn't work for you anyway. So I'm thinking that the programmed feedrates are not giving you what you expect on the Duet. Maybe you should do some simple fresh air timing tests to see what feedrate is being achieved (maybe a repeated square). Geoff

Colin, ignore that last post, it seems that I have been using a default scale of 2, which I didn't set. You could try reducing the scale ??? I will check my machine. Geoff

Still quite a lot to do @Alex Chambers before I present it to Capt'n Skunkbeard.

So I am having some trouble getting my spindle level with the spoil board. the X Axis is square to the spotlboard however the spindle is not. I have used tin foil as a shim but its is still out. Is there a plate or some adjustment I am not aware of to get his square??? Thank You in Advance
