Hi, Trying to get this touch off function working on my floating head plasma. I’m doing something wrong and I don’t know what. Please help.
Error about missing numeral: You left Pierce Height field Blank in CAM under the Toolpath Options. Enter a number into the field Probe: test probe on Troubleshooting tab, making sure its OFF when not touching and ON when it is touching. And also that you have $6=1 as set by our machine profiles (including the CUSTOM option)
Hi Peter, I also having problems with the floating head. Lowers okay, however doesnt touch off. Wired correctly as per, "triggered" when probe switch is contacted. Can you advise? Thanks in advance.
Do you need more than 25mm of travel to touch off? Did you Zero on the surface before starting the job?
I should add, Im running with the plasma off (dry) to confirm the touch off is working. Machine cuts fine without the touch off.
Then please elaborate on what you mean by: Oh, and since we are talking about probing, I am going to assume you followed all the BlackBox Docs right? Including section 7.1? (Note probe bug mentioned in section 7.2). With that assumption in mind I am skipping over the "is your firmware up to date" question which may make as think something else is up, but perhaps you did skip 7.1
It's less of an error, and more like "additional instructions" - read it carefully and follow closely then try again.
To recap: Start flashing. When the log does the ... --- ... indicator like its waiting for the controller, normally most PCs would put the X32 into bootloader mode by toggling the DTR and RTS signals. Your PC isn't so at that step you step in and take the place of your computer's DTR/RTS signals and do: Press and Hold the MODE button Press the RESET button Release the RESET button Also release the MODE button
