My Y axis is crunchy and not moving. Documentation points to a wiring issue. I have checked everything in the connectivity but maybe I had the wires different than I had before. I know my green and blue wires are paired and my red and yellow. What order at these meant to go into my Blackbox plug? Sorry awake for like 29 hours. Hope this makes sense. Thanks for any help.
Dont rely on wire colors. Use this guide to ID them: docs:blackbox:faq-identify-motor-coils [OpenBuilds Documentation] Also, check for any breaks within the cables by using a multimeter. Also check your connectors to make sure you've havent crimped down on the wire insulation instead of the wire itself. Also, get some sleep
Identified the pairs using the documentation and the cables test good on a multimeter. No fluctuations and it goes down to 0.01 which is the best result possible on my multimeter (same as proves touching each other). I can’t find what it says to do with the pairs next though. Do they go next to each other or one pair in the middle and the other pair on either side of those ones?
In the documentation it says to label the pairs as A+A- and B+B-. The blackbox has the labels printed next to each axis. Hard to see in the picture, but its (A+ A- B+ B-) https://docs.openbuilds.com/lib/exe/fetch.php?cache=&media=docs:blackbox:tour-right.png https://docs.openbuilds.com/lib/exe/fetch.php?cache=&media=docs:blackbox:nema23-reversed-y2.png
Oh my golly gosh.. I feel so stupid now. I was reading the text so many times to see what I missed that I didn’t focus on the image or the box in front of me that I have seen hundreds of times. Thank you so much. I just had a couple of hours sleep and will head back to my workshop (not driving, getting a lift). You have no idea how excited and grateful I am. Have an awesome day/evening!
