    Hi All,

I have a question of the appropriate type of screws to use to assemble my CNC, I do a fair amount of boating and any time aluminum and stainless come together there is an opportunity for galvanic corrosion and the screws get jammed. Since a lot of the parts are going to be aluminum I'd like to know the best way to connect them.

is Galvanic corrosion something I should be concerned with?

Do others use an anti-seize product when assembling parts?

Any issues with using stainless steel bolts or do I need to get hardened machine bolts?

thanks in advance for your advice

As long as everything stays dry, you have absolutely nothing to worry. Just build and have fun.

I ran my Sphinx under flood for most of its life. The only issue was a little rust from the steel bolts and slot nuts. I've switched to stainless with my newer build for that reason, but I certainly didn't need to.

I'm from the USVI, so I know a little about rust and corrosion.
