Looks like gauge 14 / ~2mm, should be easy in a few passes or when using trochoidal cutting you might do it in one pass. Just upgrade the 3mm gantry plate to a XL C-Beam plate and it should be okay to use the stock C-Beam machine. -Ronald
6061 is probably the most commonly used (among forum members) because of its easy machinability. As far as thickness, pretty much any thickness is possible as you are taking it away in small bites. Thicker just takes more passes. Just be sure and keep the chips cleared as you go.
