Hello folks I have been using a 1.5 KW Hengyang water cooled spindle on C-beam machine. I am using a small radiator with a 120mm fan. I used 80:20 distilled water to car coolant mixture that runs in a closed loop. I have not seen the coolant temps go over 78 degree F. All well but I want to get rid of additional plumbing I had to create . The coolant lines from pump and radiator are 3/8th lines but the spindle has small inlets and I was only able to fit 3/16 lines. I had to find a set of converting steel nipples and add additional H/W to hold piping. I am wondering if I could instead change the nipples on that came with the spindle that would allow me to directly attach a 3./8th pipe. Please advise.
You should be able to, the nipples can unscrew from the spindle bodies (at least on the 65mm 1.5kw I had) - then just find a matching thread pneufit fitting for 3/8th (its been a couple years, I think it was 1/4BSP but check yours - dont trust me on that) (I like those push-fit pneufit ones, both acrylic and nylon tube locks nicely in them)
I was able to remove and check at home depot. They have nothing matching. It looks to be 8mm threads. Where did you find your fittings ?
Just did a Googly for Pneufit fittings, for my future needs, and found these: NORGREN Pneufit© Push-in Fittings, Metric : Hoses Direct I see eBay has a selection as well. Thanks for the point - Peter
