Check out what Matthias Wandel does without a 3D router : http://woodgears.ca/bandsaw/cnc.html True, as fast as a 3D router can be, for some parts, the prep time (ie generating the G-code) can be long for a one off. He actually built a wood manual 3D router : a 3D router pentograph and a router copier. Below he routes a rotary phone without using any CAD, CAM or such 'high tech' stuff - just wood, a few screws and, of course, the router : He makes all sorts of machinery out of wood. Amazing, eh ? I'll stick to a CNC machine like myOX, thank you nonetheless.
