I would like to share it with my "Industrial Engineering Students" to build a unique Capstone graduate project.
Mine would be destined for a new laser engraver and cutter. 8-bit processing doesn't cut it. (Pun intended) For best results with fast tools, you need smoothieboard
I will build a super Hybrid CNC, 3D, Plasma Cutter, Wood Router, Foam cutter. Wow talking about dream come true!!!
I have big plans for my first DIY build. 1. Looks like I want a strong frame. 2. Really good Controller Board 4. A set of 5 Nema 17 Stepper Motor 2A 45Ncm (64oz.in) 17HS16-2004S 5. Some 20 x 20 aluminium extrusion. 6. Lastly about a month of work to roll my eyes and bang my head on a wall
[I,m new here and don't know how to edit posts?] Forgot to say I would build a coreXY style designed by me.
I'd like to build something based on CoreXY-ish design, along with a dampened rigid frame. Need to make more toys for the kids.
I'm a college student in my last semester for a Mechanical CAD degree. One of the "elective" projects in the portfolio required for my last class is a fully-dimensioned design for a Core[X,Y] 3D printer, built on a V-Slot frame and using V-Slot linear motion. The Smoothieboard is the Holy Grail of CNC/3D printer controllers, and I would be thrilled to have one for that project.
I would use the smoothie board for my Mostly Printed CNC (courtesy of the designer Vicious Circle CNC |) I've been working on the build for the past 4 months and am hoping to modify it so I can use a 40W laser tube, before that thoe I am replacing some of the plastic parts with metal to make it a bit more sturdy. I've been wondering if I could turn it into a horizontal CNC machine, thoe the MPCNC has a tool changing head so it could be a laser/3D Printer/ any cnc as well, I've been looking at the smoothie board for a while and have been thinking of getting one. Either way I will probably get a smoothie board or three eventually.
I'm just into 3D printing and have purchased an Anet A8 for learning purposes. Have already started collecting parts for my new D-Bot build and would love to have the Smoothieboard controlling it all.
A Core XY printer based on Tech2C's build! It'll be a great challenge. Also Im a bit tight on budget haha
I'm planning to build a MPCNC, and would like to add mirrors and lenses to run a cutting laser (40-100watt range)!
I hope to build a CoreXY 3D printer. Saving the cost of this great board will make this come true a lot sooner!
I would love one for the C-Beam i am building because it seems to be the most versatile controller you guys offer. Will also eventually use it for 3D printing on C-Beam structure.
I would use it for a plotter, drag knife machine that handles full sheets of foam core board for build RC airplanes for my Grandkids FT Duster - BUILD https://s3.amazonaws.com/assets.fli...ages/medium/ftduster-sbk-1-jpg_1378939718.jpg
