I created a job in vcarve using the center of my piece as x0, y0. When I go into openbuilds to cut the job I home the machine, probe my stock to get my work 0,0,0. When I start the cut it's like it's pulling from the home zero and not the work zero I just probed. What am I screwing up. Newbie here so I apologize for any stupid questions
Then make sure to set your Work Zeros to center of stock too. I tend to do a diagonal corner-to-corner line in pencil, set zero using just jogging (easy enough to find the pencil line intersect) then Probe for Z offset and go. You can use GotoZero to confirm Zero is where it should be 3D view will show if your gcode matches (Grid lines should be centered on the gcode) and you can use the Check Size to double check too
No, there are lots of ways to set zeroes Manual jog + setzero shown in video below although if you want to use the probe, it can be used for centering stock too. Manual is just sometimes easier. (advanced option under the XYZ tab of the Probing Wizard)
