I'm resuming my WB 1010 build after 6 months and was looking at the Black Box. I've been working in CNC machining for 40 years... it's what I know. Does the Black Box support V-carve Pro? Do I have to figure out GRBL or can I rely on my comfort level NC coding? I've got a Mk3\Mk4 control board and motor drivers for the WorkBee, but man, that's gonna be a rat's nest of wiring. Are there any settings files to import into CNC TNG for the WorkBee? Any tips, links to guides, photos, referrals would be appreciated. Planet CNC forum is relatively no help at all.

This used to be so much easier with a couple of phone calls.

VCarve supports Grbl which runs on the BlackBox

Hand coding gcode is pointless in today's world. Just use CAM software to generate gcode for you. No need to know the full grbl spec, just use a Grbl post processor in your choice of CAM software

BlackBox doesnt use TNG. See software.openbuilds.com and Workbee profiles are included (click Videos links at the top of this page, find the workbee wiring/software video for details)

Thank you for the reply, Peter. I already purchased the Mk3/Mk4 controller and 4 motor drivers (got them when I purchased the WorkBee) but haven’t opened them yet. I don’t know if OpenBuilds will take returns, but I haven’t sent any electrons through any of it.

I’m gonna be lazy and use the Black Box just to get wired up quicker and neater. Since V Carve can work with it, I don’t really have anything to lose.
