Does anyone know what the maximum feed rate for the Workbee is? can I get up to 300 ipm? I see what it is set at in GRBL, but I would like to know what the real-world limitation is when using the Nema 23 24v steppers. I am trying to G-Wizard (CNC Cookbook) and they do not have a predefined "Feed Limit " for the Workbee1010. Thanks,
If its any help the max feed settings for my workbee (from Ooznest in the UK) are 2500mm/min (98ipm). You could probably push it a bit beyond that, but would eventually get to the point where you would be missing steps. If you get close to that limit what you were asking it to do would also have an effect, so I think you might have to experiment and see what happens. Alex.
I was watching a Shopbot training video on 3d carving sign foam and it was calling for a (14000rpm) 5 in per second feed and plunge. I did notice the 2500mm/min limit, but will play with that and see what the machine can do. Thanks for the response. I will check back with my results.
That's a bit of an old post - I have found I can get rapid moves of 4000 mm/min and feedrates up to 2000 mm/min with the V-wheels. I've upgraded to linear rails recently and should be able to get faster feedrates, although my rapids are limited by leadscrew whip until I can get some longer leadscrews so I can tension them. Alex.
