Where do I in the openbuilds software I set the limits for X,Y,Z? Like for X all the way to the left I want to set as zero and all the way to the right what ever numerical value is for the right? And the same for Y and Z. I am a total new guy to CNC
You set that up in the grbl settings tab, $23 Homing Direction (Set up the Homing Cycle · gnea/grbl Wiki). Before doing that, make sure your machine is moving correctly when you jog. X+ = right, Y+ = away from you and Z+ = up. If its not, you can adjust those in the grbl settings tab; $3 Axis Direction. All the settings can be found here: Grbl v1.1 Configuration · gnea/grbl Wiki Please take the time to study and learn grbl here: Home · gnea/grbl Wiki
I suggest you also read this: Frequently Asked Questions · gnea/grbl Wiki It will help you understand why saying "Like for X all the way to the left I want to set as zero and all the way to the right what ever numerical value is for the right" isnt correct in a standard grbl config. You can certainly put your limit switches there (home there), but you wont be setting machine 0 there.
