So.. I replaced my spindle mount, I did not mess with any of the wiring, the X and Z work fine, but as soon as I connect my USB cable to a computer, the Y limit switch triggers, Even if I completely remove the wires of the Limit switch on the controller board, it remains on. It did this in both OSX and Windows on the same computer, with the cable that has been working for ages, as well as different cables and different USB C adapters. This started today.. I have tried reflashing, removing the cables, switching the X and Y (this triggers the X when I hit the y limit switch). Not sure what is going on....
Fried input port on the ATmega (ESD discharge into a signal wire , earlier shorts, etc) Sadly, Needs to be replaced. BlackBox has filters to protect against that particular problem (and RC filters to prevent false triggers) - when you consider replacement options
*sigh* thats what I thought... well.. Xpro V5 comes out in 5 days.. or so the site says... Or maybe I;ll give the 6 Pack a shot...
Also.. just realized you were from SA.. I was born and grew up in Port Elizabeth small world.... Anyways.. the ominous banner at the top.. INTERFACE coming soon.. obviously you guys want to surprise everyone.. so I'm not going to ask what it is.. but I'm about to buy the 6 Pack controller from the thread I started a while ago... and 4 tmc5160s from Amazon... should I wait... Are those alternative boards as bulletproof as a BlackBox (; Secrets are secrets of course I will say it wont gel with the alternatives
It seems pretty bullet proof.. for something that I will have to build (or have the developer flash for me for an extra charge).. but I just checked.. while he sells it in Tindie.. he ships it himself.. who knows when I will get it.. the ESP32 module and drivers would be here by Sat via Amazon.. Arg.. I don't wanna wait.. but I guess I will. still usable, just cannot use homing, I have to manually home it...
Practically all my jobs I use manual homing since I don't place the material at the bottom left corner of the machine but rather more in the center and a little away from the front so homing will not work that much for me. And just to pre-emptive answer, I have two switches on each axis.
